Diego Simeone said he is not worried about Barcelona and Real Madrid, instead concerned by Sevilla after Atletico Madrid lost further ground in LaLiga.

A better record than Mourinho – Guardiola´s 100 Champions League games in numbers

A 2-1 defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk may not have been how Pep Guardiola envisaged his 100th Champions League match as a manager going.

Guardiola fielded a much-changed side on Wednesday, with City already guaranteed to finish top of Group F and a derby against local rivals Manchester United and Jose Mourinho set for Sunday.

Sergio Aguero s late penalty was not enough to stave of a 16th Champions League loss of the pioneering Spaniard s managerial career on a milestone night in Europe s premier competition.

With the help of Opta, we look at how Guardiola s record measures up against his contemporaries.

Olmo opts for RB Leipzig according to Dinamo Zagreb coach Bjelica

Dani Olmo is set to join Bundesliga leaders RB Leipzig despite reported interest from Barcelona, Milan and Chelsea, Dinamo Zagreb s coach has confirmed.

Olmo, who impressed for Spain Under-21s at last year s European Championships, has scored eight goals in all competitions this season, including five in the Champions League.

The playmaker s form had seen him linked with a return to Barca, who he left to join Dinamo in 2014, while Premier League side Chelsea and Serie A club Milan also reportedly hold an interest.

However, the 21-year-old has opted to make a move to Germany, with Leipzig his destination, according to Zagreb boss Nenad Bjelica, who believes Olmo has made the right decision for his career.

He had really good offers, he opted for Leipzig, B…

Richarlison linked with Manchester United

According to a recent report from Evening Standard, Everton star Richarlison has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United – however, the potential deal will only actually go through if United are unable to complete the signing of Erling Haaland.

The future of the young Norwegian has been a source of great debate for quite some time now, especially after his amazing start to the new season. Alas, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the kind of boss that is going to want a back-up plan, and Richarlison certainly isn’t a bad option in that regard.

The Everton sensation hasn’t always been on the money since arriving at Goodison Park, but whenever he hits a great spell of form, it almost always leads to success for the Toffees in one way or another.

Leaving so soon? Cassano the latest in football´s long list of short stays

Antonio Cassano announced his decision to leave Verona on Monday, just a fortnight after joining the club on a free transfer.

It was rumoured last week that Cassano was going to retire from the game, only eight days after arriving, but the charismatic forward held a media conference to state he had opted to play on with the Gialloblu.

The saga took a third (we pray), final and definitive twist on Monday, as the 35-year-old retired after all. The crazy story may not come as a surprise to many, given his reputation for individuality throughout a checkered career.

But it got us thinking back to other examples of players and coaches enjoying or should that be enduring comically short stints at a new club.

Inter star Lukaku sets Europa League scoring record

Romelu Lukaku scored for a ninth successive Europa League match as Inter took on Bayer Leverkusen on Monday, setting a new record in the competition.

Inter forward Lukaku put Antonio Conte s side 2-0 up 21 minutes into the quarter-final clash in Germany, squeezing a low finish in after holding off Edmond Tapsoba, before Kai Havertz pulled one back for Leverkusen.

Having matched a long-standing Alan Shearer record with a strike against Getafe last week, Lukaku is the first player to score in nine straight matches in either the UEFA Cup or the Europa League.

The Belgium international had previously appeared in the competition with Everton in 2014-15, scoring in matches against Dynamo Kiev, Young Boys and Wolfsburg.
